Quilter's Blog Hop Party 2012

I'm joining the Quilter's Blog Hop Party this year!  The hop is fairly straight forward - several dozen shops join and offer back-to-school giveaways - you can view the list starting 26 August at this page

I'll be posting a tutorial (in small steps) during the giveaway period for making a Pin-dows lap quilt.  From this post that you're reading right here, you may post comments beginning Sunday 26 August through Sunday 3 September for your chance to win a Soup-to-Nuts Pindows quilt kit.  The winner will receive all the fabric and batting needed to make a quilt just like the one in the tutorial:

Now for the details:
- Please only one entry per person.  I know you may be hopping around a lot of blogs in the coming week or so, but please just one entry in the comments for this giveaway
-  This giveaway is open internationally, but if your kit gets lost in the mail or takes nine weeks to get to your hamlet on the top of a mountain I won't send a replacement

- The quilt top finishes, before quilting and washing, at 40.5" square, so should finish around 38" square when it's ready for use.  That makes a great size for a lap quilt, particularly someone chair-bound or a toddler quilt for the floor or stroller.

- The prize contents: 40 printed squares, 40 white solid squares, sashing in 1.5" and 2.5" widths, solid white sheeting for the backing, one 45" square batt; the winner will need to supply the thread, skill, love and time.

- the drawing will be held on or about 5 September and the winner will be notified by email on or about the sixth.  If the profile used to post your comment does not include your email or a 'message me' function, please include your email address in your comment in the form of: [handle] (at) [domain] (dot) com (or org ,or net, or what-have-you)

UPDATE:
For additional parts of the tutorial, visit these pages:

Comments and entries are now closed.  The winner will be announced shortly!

Since I was forced into early retirement because of the economy in Sonora, CA I find that I have a supply of thread, beginner's quilting level, lots of love and so much time. I am looking forward to making the quilt and so glad you have decided to share your tutorial. Thank you for joining in the Blog Hop and giving all of us a chance to win that fabric and batting.
