I am in Love!

Well, maybe just in awe. I am not actually going to leave my honey-bear for Betty, but damn!

Having teethed on E.A.Poe I am in love with Raven and Mr. Bones warms my heart for obvious reasons and maybe young Elvis does look more than a little like Rob Lowe, but I am not about to try to make a fabric E.A.Presley unless I am tippled and I am painting by numbers on flocked faux-velvet!

I have always been in awe of multi-dimensional aritsts like stone carvers, potters, physicists, people who can paint people who look like people and not victims of a vicious steamroller attack* - you know artists.

*victims of a vicious steamroller attack is an expression used by Lisa Boyer somewhere in her collection 'That Dorky Homemade Look' to describe her barely-two dimensional quilts. Personally, I am still in the victim-of-a-steamroller stage of quilting and do not know if I will make it to the point of expressing depth and visual field in my work before my attention span leads me down the primrose path of glassworking or paper collage or ceramics, or some other tedious form of expression that can organize the colours spewed forth by my brain.

mmmmmmmm, brains

Tara, if you love Poe - this Friday night and tomorrow night there is going to be a perfomance in Old Town Alexandria featuring Poe's visit of VA and some of his stories. Just google Alexandria Halloween events.

Oh, I'm gonna miss it - obviously I am a little late for tonight and we've got a party tomorrow night.

I was a good girl and did go to his reinternment and it was wonderful!
